The Tree in Winter

Many times, I really wonder how?
Do trees survive the passing challenges and bow
To nature's ever changing and challenging clime
And stand firm upon the ground for long, long time!

Amidst the biting coldness of winter winds
The trees exposed vulnerable yet wins
Against the frosts, or threats of impending snow
To be firm and warm in the company of birds, even a crow!

There is beauty in the absence of their leaves!
Consider the twigs that cling and never leave
Because they understand the coming and going is just a part
Of their existence and enjoy the coming, staying then depart.

I really admire the strengths in trees
Their ability to dance full of glees
But never complains but perhaps for human greed
Where helpless trees are cut yet holding not to bleed.

To the kids and the grown ups also.... wishing you all a blessed Christmas!

Pale pink flower in Advent

This plant graces our front garden in the season of Winter. I do not know the name of this plant but for now I will just call it a pale pink flower that blooms in the Advent season of the Christian year. The flowering last until after winter onto early spring!

Male Baby Changing Area

This photo was taken in one of the male public toilet which provides a facility for male parents who are with their babies to change their nappies. It is a living witness for a change in the culture and acceptance for male parents to nurse their babies in public facilities.

Autumn 2008

Picture taken at Greenpark lake, Liverpool. It appears that the lake is freezing cold that the liver ducks do not even dare to go swimming as they normally do during spring and summer.
